  • 2 lbs orange sweet potatoes (about 3 large/900 grams) Beauregard, garnet, or jewel (see notes)
  • 1/4-1/3 cups plain Greek yogurt (60-80 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil, more if needed
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter (30-45 grams)
  • 10 sprigs fresh thyme (about 5-7 grams)
  • 1 head of garlic (about 50-60 grams) about 4-5 cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon sweet or smoked paprika, to taste (0.5 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pink or kosher salt, to taste (3 grams)
  • 1/4 teaspoon four-blend or black ground pepper, to taste (0.5 grams)

  • Baking Sheet and Aluminum Foil: Used to wrap and bake the potatoes for a tender texture.

How to Make Mashed Sweet Potatoes

Preheat the Oven: Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
